Project Context

This project involved a full lighting system installation for a performing arts space in Cassville. The installation was completed over several phases between November 2024 and early 2025, requiring coordination across evolving construction conditions and multiple trades. The project required both installation execution and technical system integration, including programming, rack terminations, and onsite training for long-term operation.

 

Our Responsibility

Lumen Design provided full lighting installation leadership for the project. The scope included front lighting with two moving profile “specials,” full cyc wash integration using Chauvet Ovation fixtures, rack terminations for the control system, LED tape integration throughout architectural panels, and complete installation of a Hog 4 HedgeHog control system. In addition to system installation, we provided onsite programming, operator training, and follow-up support to ensure the venue staff could confidently operate and maintain the system.

 

Execution & Problem Solving

The installation required adapting to shifting site conditions, including changes in electrical personnel during construction. Coordination and communication were essential to ensure lighting infrastructure aligned with evolving electrical layouts and real-world installation constraints. A motorized front wash truss was integrated to allow safe maintenance access and long-term serviceability of the system. Control integration required careful termination, configuration, and programming to ensure cohesive performance across front wash, moving fixtures, cyc wash, and architectural LED elements. The project required steady technical leadership to maintain system consistency despite adjustments in surrounding trades and construction timelines.

Outcome

The lighting system was fully installed, programmed, and commissioned, with training provided for in-house operation. The client continues to utilize the system confidently, with ongoing support available as needed. The result is a flexible, maintainable lighting system designed for both performance impact and long-term usability.
